Livin' High on the Hog: Martin's Tops Nashville Scene's "Best of Nashville" BBQ List

Boy, we gotta say, this one took us back for a second. Our neighbors at The Nashville Scene recently printed their "Best of Nashville" list and we're awfully humbled to have been named the Best Bar-B-Que in Nashville. There's a lot of good pig in this ever-evolving city, so we're extremely proud to be included in such a lineup. In addition to Nashville Scene readers naming us Best Bar-B-Que and Best Ribs in Nashville, the scribes at the alt-weekly named us the Best 'Que in our little Southern town.

Accolades, trophies, and good press are nice, but here's what it all boils down to, folks: it's our crew. The incredible people that make these bar-b-que joints run like clockwork. From the back of house crew smoking hogs and preppin' sides, to the front of house crew that greets you with Southern Hospitality and a smile, none of this would be possible without them. We're so grateful to have the best team in Nashville bringin' the gospel of whole hog bar-b-que to the world.

Here's a little bit of what our friends at The Nashville Scene had to say about us below:

"We didn’t need Bon Appétit to tell us Martin’s is exceptional, but a barbecue joint making the list of America’s 50 Best New Restaurants speaks volumes. For me, it’s the only Nashville barbecue that can hold its own with Memphis (or my Uncle Stewart — show me a girl whose uncle’s barbecue isn’t her favorite, and I’ll show you a Yankee). Martin’s cooks whole hogs low and slow in cinderblock pits, as God intended, so once it’s pulled, every bite has char, salt, fat and sweetness. In a town where some “BBQ” never sees hickory wood, Martin’s smokes the competition." - NASHVILLE SCENE
