Martin's Included in Andrew Zimmern's BBQ Roundup

Plenty of folks out there know Andrew Zimmern for eating wild n' crazy things like duck tongues and smoked raccoons on his Travel Channel show, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. But we know that there's a lot more to this guy than an obsession with odd eats. A three-time James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, writer and teacher, this guy is universally regarded as one of the most versatile and knowledgeable personalities in the food world (www.andrewzimmern.com).

That's why you've really gotta listen up when he gives recommendations on...uhh...more normal-type foods--y'all know, foods that you'd actually be interested in eating on a daily basis.

Zimmern recently offered his suggestions for the best barbecue joints in the United States of America, and we were pretty daggum proud and honored to be included in his list, published on Made Man.

Alongside another great Nashville BBQ spot, the Peg Leg Porker, Music City barbecue was well-represented, laying claim to the most barbecue joints listed in one town on Zimmern's list. And with so many accolades to his name, we know he ain't blowin' smoke.

“When it comes to whole hog barbecue, award-winning pitmaster Pat Martin is the man to trust. Martin’s Bar-B-Que is his temple of smoked meats, a pilgrimage-worthy barbecue joint just 20 minutes outside of Nashville. The pulled pork is from whole hogs cooked low and slow for 24 hours and basted with an acidically bracing vinegar mop. This is top-notch stuff.”
