Native Magazine Goes Whole Hog with Martin's

It's pretty incredible to believe that Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint is coming up on it's 10 year anniversary of smoking whole hogs and filling the bellies of folks who love it. We are in awe of how far we've come, from just one little ol' BBQ joint out in Nolensville, TN to five separate locations, including one way out in West Virginia and a behemoth, double-decker barbecue Mecca in the heart of downtown Nashville.  

And while Martin's is occasionally included in roundups from this magazine and listicles for that website, it's a whole new thing to be the star of a six-page spread in Nashville's local publication Native magazine. Complete with beautiful full-page photos and a story that truly tells the story of Martin's' soul, we almost can't believe our eyes. 

Martin's head honcho Pat Martin has held an interest in cooking meats ever since he was a young kid, but he first discovered the art of smoking whole hogs in his college days. Since then, he's perfected the craft, complimented it with five original-recipe BBQ sauces and rounded out the bases with scratch-made, family-recipe inspired sides and desserts. 

This is the bedrock of barbecue itself, imprinted in our very DNA and the foundation of Martin’s wildly successful Nashville-based business: the love of meat cooked over an open fire and sharing it with others, personal differences be damned.
